This is a common point of confusion.
BJ-5000TW-1 (Top Wind STABILITY)

Which manual tongue jack do I need?
Choosing the correct manual tongue jack depends on how your trailer is built and how much weight you need to lift:
A-Frame trailers Choose an A-Frame jack. These fit standard A-frame couplers and are available in top-wind or side-wind configurations.
Straight-tongue trailers with bolt-on mounting plates Choose a Side-Mount jack. These are the easiest to install and include mounting hardware.
Custom or heavy-duty trailers Choose a Weld-On or Tube-Mount jack for a permanent, heavy-duty installation.
Unsure about capacity? Make sure you are selecting a jack based on lifting capacity, not holding capacity. If you’re unsure, contact us before purchasing and we’ll help you choose the correct model.
